Christmas starts with the Spanish lottery on the 22nd of December. One ticket is a 1/10 of a whole ticket and costed 20 euros. The children then sing the numbers and the prices as the come out of the tubular.

Not everyone celebrates on this day, getting presents from father christmas

31st of December is Nochevieja (old night)

This day you eat a lovely dinner with the family. Close to 12 o'clock you turn on the television and prepare the grapes. 1 grape for each bell sound. Even closer to 12 o'clock the clock does a bell sound to prepare everyone for the grape eating and then you try to eat all 12 grapes before the sounds stop. After that you go out to celebrate until the morning.
