The best Christmas dinner

Hello. Hallo. Hola

My boyfriend's family always cooks a wonderful christmas dinner. Everyone gets a course and the quality should be high.

Grandma and mother had the first course

They made avocado with shrimps and sauce. Everyone got half an avocado with sauce in it as if it were a bowl.

My boyfriend my mother and I did the Amuse-Gueule.

We made scallops with a whitewine sauce sweetend with mango and cinnamon.

Father and grandma made the main course

They made deer goulash and dumplings. As a side red cabbage and savory cabbage salat. The dumplings were amazingly homemade and tasted great.

Bother and aunt made dessert.

They offered us lemon cheesecake and brownie muffins with a mango sauce and vanilla ice cream.

It brings everyone together and makes the food that much better

Did you have a lovely christmas meal ?

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

Star wars review from a star wars hater

Hello. Hallo. Hola

I don't like star wars. For 20 years I never even watched one film. Until Oktober 2016. My boyfriend agreed to stop smoking and I agreed that I'd watch all the star wars films. So we watched them chornologicly.

Thursday this week that meant watching rouge one.

First off for people you don't watch the films with a passion. Rouge one is a sode story. However the quality is amazing and the general plot quite intriging.

Like every other star wars film, the film starts with plot and background story quite slow paced and lasted for half of the film. At the wnd all shit goes down and the battle begins. Chasing, shooting aktion Aktion.

Apperently the film end perfectly to jugsaw into star wars 4. My star wars loving boyfriend LOVED the film and is going to see it a second time.

What did you think if you watched it?

The secret lesson

Hello. Hallo. Hola

This semester we got a new teacher.
She is super sweet but talk a lot.

The thing is she says exactly what she thinks ... but leave chunks out.

Sometimes it's a bit hard to get what she wants to tell you, adding to that she uses "hip" english phases. So the class thinks she is annoying

Earlier this week our class was laid later. Ending at 18:00 I still hadn't had my talk with her yet.

Turned out I stay another hour but I got a crash coarse in computer programms which was amazing !

I loved it. My friend who actually cares about studying was super jealous as I told her.

Some people will surpise you, don't write them off to soon. You never knw what they might teach you.

It's close to Christmas so everyones sick and they are desperate for workers

I did work 6 hours also being sick. It was diffucult but not impossible

However I dicided not to go because it makes me uncomfortable touching people's food whilst being sick. Furthermore I can't concentrare as well and I am handeling money which could be bad profit for my supermarkt. Although i felt guilty nit being able to help out.

How do you decide if your well enough for work ?

Stand up !

Hello. Hallo. Hola

Is someone nagging at you? Being mean? Unfair? Is it your friends? Parents? Partner?

Stand up for yourself!!

You are as much worth as any other person don't let people bully you. STAND UP AND FIGHT! Not physically of coarse. But do something about it.

Talk to them if they will listen and discuss

Ignore them if they are being childish

Ask for help if it gets to much

If all else fails:

Cut them out of your life:

Bad friend : Say Bye, there are other friends that are so much better for you

Parents : Move out, give them space give yourself space. (Don't lose contact if you can help it thy are your parents and they love you and you them)

Partner : Break up... Don't compromise your happiness the right partner will love you for you and not bring you down

Sometimes we have break things apart to let better things come together

The fantastic beasts and where to find them 3D

Hello. Hallo. Hola

Have you seen the new film from J.K Rowling? The fantastic beasts and where to find them.

I went to go watch it yesterday and it was amazingly beautiful. it had such a lovely esthectic.

After the film my boyfriend and I were dicussing if there should be a second part. The movie is great as a stand alone leaving you with enough mystrey to be intrigued but also enough info to settle for one film.

The only thing that annoyed me was that the 3D was partly really ditracting because of the quality. This may have many reasons, where we sat the cinema etc. Nevertheless it made the background appear in twins even the popping out of the screen 3D effects were blurry.

It was a bit of a shame but the film was still AMAZING!

Did you see it ? what did you think ?

How to stay motivated

Hello. Hallo. Hola

Unmotivated ? Ready to quit? Asking why you have to get up for this?

Maybe your job? Or school?

I have been having days where I'd prefer to quit all together. Knowing that quitting isn't an option I had to come up with something to change my attitude.

Convincing myself it will soon be over worked ... for a week.

So I needed a different method.

Before going I told myself: Today you will one up yourself as much as you can manage today. Making a challenge for myself to work harder or be happier.

I havn't tested this too long but at the moment it's working out for me.

If you have to go to school, set yourself a little challenge. e.g raising your hand or talking to that one person you get nervous around. You didn't succeed the first time? No problem try again next time.

This makes everything a little more fun even if it's something simple like greet someone before they greet you.

Try it and tell me how it went.

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

Getting back in the swing of things

Hello. Hallo. Hola

Is it as freezing where you live as here.. brrrr.

When I was 13 I wish for a camcorder for my birthday. I got one and starting making silly little videos for Youtube. It was so fun only thing I didn't like was that I was so bad in editing but I enjoyed it. I would of proberly kept doing but it died down for various reasons.

I had a segment with my friend after I while she decide to quit. Telling me she had no time. Looking back I guess the people at school were getting to her.

No one told me if I kept doing to I would eventually get better.

My neighbor was in some of the videos, going to the same school he started getting bullied by his "friends". He begged me to take down the video or put it on private. I remember that being super hard for me because it was one of the "good" videos on my channel.

After stopping completely I eventually put all the video on private because for a 15 year so videos when you were 13 are super cringe.

For years now I have been joking with my friend that I would start a Channel again, when I had a concept, when I had more time when I had (insert excuse here).

This week I sat down, planned and filmed a video and just started editing it. I don't know if it will ever be the begin of a new channel but the process was fun abd I really enjoyed it.

Don't forget yur past it may be part of your furture.

GoT books vs. The series

Hello. Hallo. Hola

How you guys doing? Do you like reading, I do.

Recently my boyfriend started reading the Game of thrones saga eventhough we had already watch the series. At first I thought that it must be boring that way.

One day I caved at started the first book. 545 pages and I was eating it up. The story was as intriguing as the series at the producers literally took chunk of the book and created into the series. I was fasinated how well they had done with this development.

So I recommend that if you like the GoT series to read the books. In the book the points of view chabge between the characters. eg. chapter 1 Jon . 2 Eddard etc.

I don't really like knighty stories but GoT is so exciting that I can't get enough of it.

Have I peeked your interest ?

Does my uni suck ?

Hello. Hallo. Hola

As you know I study in Frankfurt and it is what I want to do. Discussing this topic with others i have found out that my uni has it's problems. Recently I have been considering a uni change.

Firstly I WILL  study until I have my Exam for the main studies. After that I have a few options

1. Continue as is, realising that my uni will offer more after the 3rd semster
2. Change my school if I can continue for the 3rd semster onwards
3. Look for a job in my area and learn the craft in practice

The first option obviously depends on my uni. At the moment we don't have a computer coarse only a basic coarse taught by a student doing a work experience. I don't know what branch I want to go into yet but I would want to improve my skills in the techinal part. I could take a coarse away from the uni but I am paying a lot of money as is.

The second option is more diffucult because there are no schools for my needs that aren't more expensive or just plan bad as I have already visited them before starting.

The third option would be my go to option if my uni's generel offer doesn't improve in the specilised semster. Allowing me to get practical experience. This having the standard trouble of finding a job that will empoly a "unexperienced" girl.

However until the time comes I have a lot of time to decide

The day off

Hello. Hallo. Hola

Everyone needs some time off. The problem is not everyone has the time. As you know I have been work all summer.

Origianlly the plan was to go to Oktoberfest for one day. Looking into this, turned out the whole thing was more diffucult the I thought. The cheap bus ride were at the most awful times. So my boyfriend and I decided we would go next year and go to my grandparents house instead.

They live 2 hours away so I don't see them that often.

We drove there with a funny audiobook. As we got there we decide to go to a resturant with my grandparents have a lovely meal. Straight after we went to a wildpark, which is like a zoo however you can feed and stroke some of the animals plus they are more regional animals to see.

Before going to dinner we went home relaxed with my grandparents, decide to go watch a film and went to town for dinner and a movie. It was a fantastic day.

This proved to me, a day off doesn't have to be far away or expensive it can be as simple as visiting family. It makes them happy and it makes you happy what more can you want?

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

I'm Back!!

Hello. Hallo. Hola

It's Oktober and I am back with stories of my work, studies and life.

I have been working 3 months at the till now and have experienced a lot of interesting characters. But thats a subject for another post. Today I will tell you how I would would treat customers if I mirrored their behavoir.

The Wall

Some Customers will ignore me completely. Part of my job is to say hallo, work speedily, say the total, ask for a payback card, ask if they want a receipt and wish them a nice day. This would go like this:

Me: Hallo
*scan iteams
Customer: *says nothing
Me: That would be .... euros please. Do you have a payback card ?
Customer: *a nod/shake of the head/ignore
Me: Your change of ... euros. Would you like a receipt?
Customer: *a nod/shake of the head/ignore
Me: Have a nice day
Customer: *leaves

(really love these customers)

The Stripper Tipper

Some seem it to be aceptable to throw money at me. If I did that:

Me: *throws back change (which usally consists of coins) 3:)

The Runner

People will put their items on the till wait until I start scanning then go back to the aisle. The thing is I CAN NOT serve others before they haven't paid. So now I'm waiting. Other Customers are waiting. If I did that:

Customer: *puts items on the till
Me: *scan one item (now they can't leave or use a different till, basically stealing if the left.) and leave

You do not understand how many people do this. Someone did this and was gone for 15 minutes + because of one package of meat that wasn't 1.99 but 3.69. Yes there were customers behind him befor he left. Others had to take all their items off the till and go to another.

Pokemon Go!

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

You must of heard about the hype called Pokemon Go. A game using GPS to track where you go and on the way you can find creatures named pokemons or stop by pokestops or gyms. Essentialy a game for evry passionate collector with a physical exercise feature. ( You can't just drive in your car because the app will notice your going to fast, humanly possible.)

My dog and I love this game. My dog loves the new place we walk to and the distances we go and this app is my exercise recently. However walking 50km extra isn't so bad. I have meant so many new people and talked to other players on the street. being competative at times is taken very light hearted in my area. Being level 13 and catched 300 pokemon isn't too impressive however it is a lot of fun. The app is new so it has a lot of bugs but I enjoy it nevertheless.

For the next update I hope that you can communicate in some way with the other players, not via chat (this could cause bullying etc.) but maybe training against each other for example. I hope that when you send a away a pokemone that you wouldget stardust and a candy. other then bug fixes the only other thing I would like is a better orientation on where pokemons nearby are.

Do you love this game too ?

What is a cash Register ?

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

I had a practice job day at a supermarket. As i was looking for a job this was a way to test if i like thet job and to learn what to do. The first day the stuck me behind the cash register. On the first day I wasn't expecting that.

First of all I stoid behind my mentor and watched. After the first rush was iver she explained the basics and I got to give it a go.

1. Say Hallo
2. That the items and scan the products.
3. If the items don,t habe a barcode type in the unique number
4. Say the total
5. Ask for the payback card
6. Give in the total total that the custimer gives you
7.1. If you get cash. Give back the change while saying how much.
7.2. If you get a card the customer will have to type in their pin or sign.
8. Say bye

Simple steps. Now do it ten rimes fast and under pressure. Living in a village you will come by many people you know. On my first day I had 2 parents, a brothers friend, a neighbor, a teacher, my driving instructor and a friend of a friends. I guess that a given.

However I never knew how many people go shopping between 1 and 5 on a monday. I would assume everyone works then but no. Apparently not.

On that day I riped my jeans on the caser door. Broke the cashier buttons and had one customer who give to little money and "ran" away. She was in a real rush.

I had fun and I got the job in the end as well. Starting tuesday I will be making money. Woo.

Do you have first day stories?

The job update

Hello. Hallo .  Hola.

Looking for a job that I could do aside of studying was the topic of the last few months for me. Finding something flexibel and enjoyable was as important as learning new skills and earning an adaqute amount of money

I had gotten some rejctions before being offered a practice job, this being afew days to see if one fits in the team and enjoys the work. Then Iwas asked a question. Do I want a 450€ job or a part time job.Welll I didn't know the diffence.

I did my research

450€ job - max. 20 weekly hours (Around 10- 15 hours) , with an earning limit of 450€ , without tax and you can be relised from paying to the retirement insurence

Part time - wanted: at least  20  hours weekly .  Earning limit 800€ Ffrom which taxs will be taken off and payments to the retirement insurence .  Here the problmatic being that I can lose student status , child money and get kick out of the family insurence .

I would prefer first offer even though I can't earn over 450. Let's see if  I fit in and get the job

Central Intelligence

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

Firstly I liked to apologise for not blog very frequently rencently. I am not going to make excuses I have just haven't been home very often and my boyfriend doesn't have Wifi in his room at the moment.

Yesterday I went to the cinema and watched Central Intelligence. SPOILER ALERT!!

Bob Stone (The Rock) was bullied in school and after a horrific event he stopped going to school. At this event "the golden jet"/Calvin, who is a very popular kid at school, hels Bob out. 20 years later the two men met again and Bob turns Calvins world upside down.

This film is total comedy. It not very mentally challenging and you can guess the out come. However it is a lightheart film with some laugh out loud moments. It has what I call dumb humor.

The little Easter Egg in there is the reference to a picture of the rock with a belly bag which in this fil he cherishes dearly. The trailer doesn't give away all the funny parts of the film which I was concerned about at the beginning.

This film was quite good but not the best film I've seen. I'd give it a 6/10

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

Love the same again

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

I love Spanish and as I was in Spain I wanted to continue learning when I came back home. In reality this didn't work out so well when I started studying. Not the way I imagined.

The first few weeks I did reading writing and listening exercises everyday. I found a fun trivia game that I can play in Spanish and tht work out well for the beginning. It started beccoming less and less. Until this day I still play the game everyday. I also wanted to meet spanish speaking people to continue my speaking however the plans never came to being because of this or that excuse.

As I started studying it became even less. I was recently thinking about finding a job and deciding if I wanted to do a work experience in a company in my holidays. This turned into a daydream how after my studies it would be amazing to work a year abroad. Spain being a place where I would have to speak the anguage daily and freshen it up a bit.

So I started reading and listening exercises again. Writing this blog should remind me that I LOVE Spanish and for a long time I wanted to learn it. Which I wouldn't do if I don't try. I should at least get good enough to start listening to audio books in the car for example.

I just need to keep my goals in sight to reach them

Do you have goal you want to reach which keeps getting put off ?

Who wants to work?!

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

Recently I have started studying however the costs are starting to get to me. I have been told by so many adults that I should enjoy study without having to work. The problem the money just keeps going and I am a very good saver.

So I have started looking for a job. This process is extremly draining. this jobs won't be mentally exciting it would really be a job just for the money. Which is sad really.

A saying "Find something you love so you don't have to work a day in your life" this doesn't mean you don't need to work but it means to find a job that you love that it doen't feel like a job.

Now I have to choose if I want to live turning every penny or to work extra hours next to studying. I don't really need the job but it would give me a little more financial freedom.

I would rather invest my time in my homework and projects. However lets see what I will choose I will update you of coarse.

Paid to stay

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

Recently I began uni and made new friends. We have two months left until we diniah our first semster. Now a uni friend is starting to talk about change unis.

She found a cool uni that offers geoscience. She studies graphic design at a private uni. Here that means she pays school fees, a sum that isn't little. Now she was twlling my Aber this orher uni and how cool it is and how she would love to study there.

Thats not the problem but as I ask her if she want to go next semster she replied she would stay 2 more semsters then leave. In our school other 3 semsters we finish our basic Studies.

However it make no sense that she would stay that long in that time she would pay school fee and not do what she loves. It would make more sense to go next semster start or work if she doesn't get the spot straight away.

I understand that ir may be daunting but it would be a complete waste of her time and money.

How wouls you handle the situation?

Birthday card drama

Hello. Hallo. Hola

Recently my father had his 50th birthday. This post might caise controversy so bear with me. I am intitled to my opinion like any other.

My dad lives abroad and at his birthday I try to Skype with him to compensate. This year my stepmother whatsapps me asking I got him a card for his birthday. I never send cards I find them unpersonal and unnecessary. So I reply that I don't have a card and that I can't send him his present with the mail anyway because its not material. (I want to go to a sushi restaurant, which he hasn't had since he's met my stepmother because she doesn't like fish. And an afternoon just us two to caught up as we don't see each other a lot.)

However my stepmother was not amused:
Stepmother : ??? Not sure what that means
Didn't ask about a present...
I only asked if you sent a card, have you?
Me : No
Stepmother : It would have been nice for him to have had a card from you, do you not think?
Me: I know but I didn't want to buy any old card
Stepmother: So buy a nice card!! Or moonpig, you have had enough time, he's 50 tomorrow Samira and now will have nothing to open from you...

So now I was being guilt trip into send my father a card from someone that at no point was an authority figure for me. I never send card and I am absolutely rubbish at making them. The problem with the story is thats she believes my dad needs to open something from me. At this moment I was a little annoyed. My mother suggested a e card, which are extremely ugly. I spoke with my bestfriend and she knows I don't give cards and found the whole argumentation ridiculous.

In the end I went with my gut. I didn't send a card and my father was happier about the present he got from me then any old stupid card.

This might be just a smalk thing but we should stand up for ourselves even if it would be easier to bend to the general opinion

Have you made any simular experiences. Leave your stories below.

Digging deep

Hello, Hallo, Hola.

Two weeks ago I started studing graphic design and visual communications. I had heard of other uni experiences. How they met their uni colleges and a week of introductions.

My university was differnt. We got homework straight away. The assignment was read a text and wtite an experience to this text. Many having very personal und dark experiences. Now we know that this is part of the end of year exam.

Many say they would of choosen a differnt situation if they would of known. However I believe the university purposely didn't mention this at the begin because of the honesty behind each individual situation. We have to develop artwork linked to this experience.

We also had differnt kinds of lectures and nect week we start with software application and nude drawing.

Do you have any uni experiences to share

The Centraal Hostel Review

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

When we were in Amsterdam we stayed in the central hostel for the first 2 nights. (http://www.hostelcentraal.com).  Our aim was a cheap bed und quite central. Which this hostel totally fulfilled.

It's was a narrow building with a big window, which showed the big table and kitchen area. Our room had twenty beds that were extremly narrow. Most of the beds had curtains, ours didn't. The room had a big table and a few chairs. The en suite room had two toilets, showers and sinks. It didn't provide much privacy but then again you can't expect much from a 20 bed mixed dorm.

We had a super multi culti room. people from Spain and chile, from south Korea and England. We ate together and went out together it was like a temporary small family. we had a really interesting girl from south Korea that was a totally drug she knew everything there was to know about drugs and to hear her stories was really informative. The drug scene isn't our scene but we were so fascinated by her she had such a wonderful way of telling stories and explain things we hang on her every word.

We enjoyed our stay at this hostel and go there again. It wasn't much luxury but it was exactly what we needed. The staff are friendly and competent and the people we had whilst we were there were super cool.

Our murder in Amsterdam

Hello. Hallo. Hola

Stepping into his empty apartment we were really shocked. He didn't even show us where the bathroom was so there we sat, snuggled together against the wall, on the floor. We were really scared. We even text our location to friends.

After he proudly told us about his sex experiences with othe couchsurfer and gossiping about a couchsurfer who didn't have th best of hygiene. Making jokes about spilling something in our tea, we tried to be as polite as possible. He started to ignore us completely. He didn't even look at us. As we were getting hungry we need some supplies. Asking him, where we could find plates etc. He only nodded to the kitchen. We didn't want to rumish through all the drawers so we took only the necessities.

Having German manners we wanted to wait for him to finish preparing his own meal so we could eat together however waiting nearly 2 hours we starting eating. He then complained about us using a butter knife to cut our cucumber and called us lazy.

Missing out on a night of going out we eventually slept on the floor and thought about not staying another night. In the morning he aso ignored us.

Close to tge evening I wrote him if he wanted to join us to having dinner. He then told us he has a meeting which he will take us to straight away. After declining and explaining him that we wanted to go out for dinner he then demanded that he pick us up at the restaurant in 30 minutes. After explaining that we didn't want to rush our last dinner he then wanted us to tell him exactly where we were eating and would pick us up there when we were finished.

After the whole ordeal he wanted to take us to the meeting. We told him what our plan was on which he didn't want to go to his meeting. Later he persisted on going to the meeting. However the drugs he took early started to work so he was easy to convince and tease.

The evening end with cheesy compliments and after the drugs weared off ignoring us.

My first Couchsurfing experience

Hello. Hallo. Hola

Recently my friend and I went to Amsterdam for a week. We choose quite a prime time to go so naturally the costs for hostels were tremendous. We tried to organise a host from couchsurfing. My friend had used it before in Australia so we gave it a go.

We booked quite spontaneously so we were desperate. Finally finding a host we were so relieved. Sadly the host was...  Interesting to say the least.

He wrote to tell us he has to work until 23:59, so we would have to wait until then. Which was no problem for us we planned our day so we could entertain ourselves. One plan was a 3 hour walking tour (which was really cool). At 12 o'clock we wrote us that he was already finished and he would pick us up immediately, he had a plan fir the whole day. We were totally shocked,  great that he was so organised but we already had plans and had to explain to him that we had a tour. He wanted to meet us straight afterwards. Not eating before the tour and having no time to eat I was super hangry us he then came to meet us.

I apologised and said I needed to go to a bakery and eat something. He told us he knew a great bakery,  ao we followed him. After 10 minutes being as friendly us possible he told us he forgot where it was but he knew a great pizza place. I was willing to eat anything. A stranger listen to our conversation told us he saw a simular place to the right. Our host who told us he knew the way, followed the strangers directions ( :[ ). We then walked past a kebab shop where our host immediately turned back and showed us that the also sold pizza. Not letting me order he just choose something and I had to pay. However I was so hungry I do not care.

With my pizza, we walked away from the shop and suggested going to our hostel to get our bags. Mateo our host "no first we will go to the wind mill." so we followed again and trusted he knew the way however he was walking a route which made zero sense. After losing all manners we asked where the hell we were going.
"To your hostel"
"Well we are in the complete wrong direction then, you said you knew the way"
"Yes I do we are nearly there."

... We were not and he blamed us for not telling him that we were walking wrong and meant a "different" hostel then he thought of.

An hour and tram discussion later, we had our bags and were on the way to his house. He then joked about where he lived and tricked us too many times. We were starting to get annoyed and scared. Him asking if we trusted him was not helping.

He opened his apartment door and his apartment was empty... Both of us had worst case scenario scenes in our head. What was he going to do?

The story will continue next week

The house of cats

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

Recently having nothing to do while waitinh for my university courses to start, I join the local animal shelter to volunteer.

I have already written a post about volunteering so this wouldn't be a repeat.

The animal shelter I joined is a house of cats. Its a little house with around 20 cats who have either been given away or abandoned.

We care for the cats and are a team about round 12 people. Only one peraon gets money for helping. I go once a week in the morning. When I get there I smell all the blankets to see if they're dirty, clean the litter boxes and sweep the floor. We then clean all zhe bowls and plates, clean the floor and feed the cats. When we are finished and have time we cuddle the cats who let us touch them.

Saturday in the evening the cat house is open to the public to either let them adopt the cats or just 0lay and cuddle the animals.

Sadly the cat house is quite unknown so they hardly get helps or donations.

I love the work is a few hours of quite easy work and making such a difference.

What are your volunteering experiences? Leave your stories below

Are you a knight to be feared?

Hello. Hallo.  Hola

I have recently had a lot of time where I didn't have a routine. I would wake up and have all the time of the world to do, nothing inpecticular. This can get boring very quickly. So before my university starts I need to entertain myself.

A friend of mine has the same problem so we agree on watching all the Harry potters in a time span of a couple of days. He then suggested we watch game of thrones.

My first thought was shock. I hate everything medieval or the knight and King era. My friend loves this series so there was a lot if pressure. He also like everything medieval and the knight and King era. While watching he would tell what characters he liked or disliked. Sometimes a short biography. He was very excited.

The first few seconds of the series I wasn't impressed but at the end of the first episode and going on to watch the others, I really enjoyed it. The story is intriguing and leaves you interested with in it's self. You have about 3 mini stories in one. The series is so well made that it's very authentic and enjoyable. For people who don't like gore or blood this might be a little disturbing but it's nothing to crazy.

I really suggest you give game of thornes a try if your looking for a good story with cliff hangers and change perspective.

What are your favourites? What would you recommend?

Types of people on the Internet

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

Do you know those people on the Internet that have to comment on...  everything?!  If with a opinion, insults or just plain stupidity. The people who seem to do nothing else then annoy everyone around them and accoring to the twitter feed only comment instead of post themselves. Sadly you can find these types in nearly every social media platform.

Spelling police

This kind of person is extremely popular. On my twitter I posted in multiple languages however my spelling is my downfall in each language. My friends have no problem with it and I am used to getting some witty comment. Recently I posted in a prending hashtag and stranges started insulting me because of my spelling. Even as my tweet showed up in an article about the trend in it's self, people went out of there way just to insult my spelling. I found it quite amusing that these people had nothing better to do and was just cuffed to be in an article. :D

The normal post

When I posted something totally normal, nothing spectacular and no spelling mistakes ;) I got a reply for some man who, in other words, told me to get a life. As I answered his tweet he then went through my whole twitter feed and commented on nearly every post with mumbo-jumbo. Seriously... Was that entertaining for you?

In Germany we say to these people "die müssen immer ihren Senf dazu geben" - they always have to give the mustard to things. Basically someone who always have to comment on everything, even if this act is totally unnecessary and annoying.

Do you know these type of people? Maybe you have some in your friendship group or your family, I know I do.

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

I know what your thinking.

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

A bestfriend know everything about you and still loves you. They know hat to say, they know what to do. They are perfect, most of the time.

By most situations in life where I need help I tell my friend, I ask her for advice. She helps where she can. However sometimes I already know what she will say and I inow I won't like it or it will be advice that won't really help me.

These situations are extremely difficult. Now I am in a situation which I really need to talk about with a friend but I can't. In situation I have no othe option but to stand through it or ask a, not so good friend, this also not being an option depending on the problem.

What do you do in this Situations?  Do you go on online forums or do chat with others? Do you have a method to stand through it yourself, and how?

Is there a change in generations?

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

Recently I have made new friends that are 2 years younger then me. I would of imagined what a difference 2 years makes and old friends have realised the same thing.

Now I am not talking about their personality or calling them childlish. This may not apply to all people that are 2 years younger, I am souly refering to the large group I have meet.

They have all make a bucket full of experiences, sexual experiences. These aren't girls who sleep with every boy the see or change their boyfriends every week. However the stories you hear from them, tell from heart break, sexy nights and boys who have enough problem without a girlfriend.

I don't understand how this happened for them, maybe the hand with the wrong crowd but that the parents have no idea about what they are up to or have been up to are frighting.

Times like this make wonder how to juggle good parenting, I want to be strict but fair but where is the line?

Travel agency or online booking?

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

A group of friends and I were planing to go to Mallorca together. Sadly I can't go however I was long enough in the group chat to catch the basic information of the adventure.

My friends went to the travel agency to inform themselves about the general offers. These offers far more then they originally planed to spend, this not stopping them. Having one goal: Mallorca. However as I then went online to look at the hotel I came across multiple choices that were the same price and same dates but with more to offer.

As I suggested this in the group on which I was meet, from one friend, "we already have an offer", "you have to be careful with online booking",  "we'll keep it in mind and ask the guy that the travel agency"

At this point I lost all faith. The employee in the travel agency is trying to make profit he not going to give way ust because the Internet has better offers. This, however, was the time where I found out I couldn't go with them so I left them to it and I am quite interested what they then choose in the end.

What do you think? Travel agency or online booking?

Boom... Crash... and it happened

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

Boom... Crash... And it happened. Your phone falls and if your unlucky on the cold hard floor that it breaks. Ok this may not be something new for some but for me it's the first time.

Last post I told you about Fasching, this holiday has a lot of alkohol involved. On the day of the parade people go to the bars afterwards and our town hall has the best party. Sadly for my phone cobblestone pavement. There my phone sliped out my hand and half od the screen stopped responding. Nothing like this has ever happened to me so the next day I googled all the possible solutions to fix my phone.

If you are a clumsy person don't buy a Sony Xperia because if something happens to your screen you with have to pay a nice price. They can't just change the screen but they have to change the rim with it.

Now I have to give a shoutout to Effis Tec UG in Frankfurt he was the by far cheapest and quickest here. On Monday he git my phone and I picked the phone up on Friday (due to other errors that are not his fault he was 2 days slower). My phone works and I didn't lose any data. If you look closely you can see that it was fix but for the price really good.

Have you ever broke your phone?

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

What is the best holiday in the year?

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

Every year there comes a time in which the streets are colourful and the people happy. This time of year is my favorite. Fasching is the name for carnival.

This time technically starts on the 11.11 at 11:11. From this day on, offering shows at the weekend , however the real party begins on thursday before lent. This day is called weiberfastnacht. This doesn't have a translation but on this day the women go out to party, its the women's night. There are shows with jokes against men or parties for women. In friday, in my village ,there is a show for the men as well.

In my village there is a masken ball (the ball of the 1000 masks) and on the sunday we have a parade that goes through the streets close by restaurants build up stands or villagers sell all sorts of goodies. There is a field in front of the sport hall where all the teenagers meet up. After the parade all the bars are open and offer wild parties.

On monday is rosenmontag = rose monday. In the morning you meet with friends and drink some beers and in the evening there more parties. For those who can't get enough there same is repeated on tuesday but the parties don't go as long.

These days most people are dressed up and like to drink together. The real reason for carnival is to scare the winter away with costumes and noise. However this meaning has gone but the tradition stays.

Would you like to celebrate this holiday in your  country or do your already celebrate it?

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

After the first time your hooked!

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

After reading the tirle you might think of something inappropriate or illegal but don't worry its nothing of the sorts.

I am talking about volunteering. Now hold up before you leave this post I'm not here to promote volunteering and guilt you into doing it however I do believe you should consider it. Let me explain.

I was always the kind of person that had respect for people that volunteer. I would think "great good for them." but I didn't care much to do anything myself. Volunteering sounded like a good idea for when your in your pension.

In Spain there came a time where I was bored out of my mind I had little to no work to do and I sat all day, everyday at home. My spanisch friend were in uni and so I had nothing to do. After enduring this torture for a while I decided to volunteer. My Spanish wasn't good enough for a job and no one would of hired me for the short time.

I volunteered in an after school club for children. It was great, I felt great and it was fun and educational.

Now I am searching for a organisation here in Germany and am even considering doing it during my studies.

So if your like me and don't care much for doing volunteering and you have 2 weeks free maybe guve it a try you never know what secret skills hide with in you.

You don't feel like volunteering then how about giving the post a like and a share it would help a lot

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

Should I become an Au-pair?

Hello, Hallo, Hola.

Your considering doing an Au-pair but don't know what to expected. Here are my pros and cons: (These are based on my experiences)

Money

Don't do it for the money! I repeat don't do it for the money! Children can extremly annoying or be loud or tease you. You don't necessarily have to love children but if you are solely doing it for the money you will go mad. I met a Au-pair you hated children, she did an 8 months Au-pair with 3 children. In the end she loved the experience.

Privacy

For the time that your there you might have less privacy then your used to. I did miss my privacy but it wasn't that bad because I knew it was only for a short amount of time.

Experiences

On your trip you will learn a lot about your Au-pair family and the way they live. You might learn a lot about yourself and will generally learn skills like tolerance patience and empathy. As Au-pair you might see parenting that you don't agree with. Which can be frustrating however you can use the experiences for later life.

New culture

Doing an Au-pair in a different country you can learn a new language and a new culture. There will be lots of new things to see, lots of new foods to eat. You might even have the opportunity to celebrate the country's holidays.

My Au-pair experience wasn't as I expected but I am happy that I did it. However I wouldn't do it a second time. I learned a lot about myself and the Spanish culture. I found my Au-pair family through mutual friends which made me feel safe.

I hope that helped. Did you do an Au-pair and have your own pros and cons?

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

The Spanish Christmas cheer

Hello. Hallo. Hola.

The Spanish Christmas is different then I know it so I wanted to share it with you.

22nd of December

Christmas starts with the Spanish lottery on the 22nd of December. One ticket is a 1/10 of a whole ticket and costed 20 euros. The children then sing the numbers and the prices as the come out of the tubular.

24th of December is Nochebuena (good night)

Here the family comes together and eats a big dinner.

(25th of December Christmas)

Not everyone celebrates on this day, getting presents from father christmas

31st of December is Nochevieja (old night)

This day you eat a lovely dinner with the family. Close to 12 o'clock you turn on the television and prepare the grapes. 1 grape for each bell sound. Even closer to 12 o'clock the clock does a bell sound to prepare everyone for the grape eating and then you try to eat all 12 grapes before the sounds stop. After that you go out to celebrate until the morning.

1st of January

Today is the hangover day where you sleep and relax after the party on Nochevieja

5th of January

This day is the Cabalgata de Reyes. A parade of the three kings where the family's go to the streets and collect candy that the people throw from the floats. the children put a shoe under the tree or by the door and leave cookies milk and water for the camels and the kings who bring the presents

6th of January

Today is the day of the three kings. the children open their presents and usually you eat another meal with your family

These days you eat a lot and there are lots of sweets and cake.

Do you like this kind of Christmas or the Christmas you have at home ?

How was the RIver hostel experience?

Hello, Hallo, Hola.

In December I went to explore Valencia and for the first time ever slept in a hostel. Reading internet hostel stories beforehand I wasn't expecting much luxury, this is my review of The River hostel. If you want to read about my Valencia trip click here.

The hostel has a shared dormitories and single rooms and the price ranges from 8 euros - 60 euros depending on the room. It is super central and a perfect distance at that.

The hostel

The hostel itself is very cool and is very well designed. The outside does not compare with inside at all. It has a bar, shelf sofas and is quite artistic. It has free, good wifi everywhere inside. The hostel has a bathroom on each floor and plenty of toilet and shower stalls. It offers breakfast for 2-3 euros however I bought my own food so I didn't try the food there.

The  kitchen

The kitchen is a medium size lacking a little bit on cutlery and fridge space. The problem with a hostel kitchen is that everyone has their own definition of clean which means that you might have to clean everything you use beforehand. I did find the cleaning cloths extremely disgusting. However the rest of the room was fairly clean.

The room

I had a mixed room of 10 which was quite spacious I thought. The room itself was quite clean how my sheet was a little dirty when I arrived and when I loóked that the wall ornament it was covered in dust. This been said I found for a hostel room it was totally expectable and nothing you couldn't over look for the price you got it for.

I would recommend this hostel to anyone who is looking for a cheap place in Valencia.

My Stories.

These stories are true but the hostel is not to blame for them. In a hostel you will meet all sorts of people. Most are nice and some are peculiar (to say the least)

Food Fight

For the four days I was there I decided to cook my own food as I thought it would come cheaper that way. However one the second morning I found my food, which was in a closed bag with my name on it, in the fridge, gone! The culprit had taken everything (mushrooms, half a head of broccoli, 2 chicken filets and four slices of beef) expect for my milk. I was prepared for this to happen so I laughed it off and hoped whoever took it had an enjoyable meal.

Heated discussion

A spanish women in my room had happened to notice what had arisen with my food being stolen. She was extremely upset about it which I found nice that so was concerned. As I tried to calm her down and explain to her that it wasn't anything to worry about she continued talking talking to others in the room about other hostel experiences she has had. A few hours we had all gone to bed, at about 1 or 2 in the morning the man parallel to me jumped out of his bed with rage. The english guy was sweating because we had the radiator in the room on. He was fed up with the heat and went to turn it off. The spanish women who slept closes to it woke up and began treating the englishman. She was very angry that he had the guts to touch "her" radiator. She threaten to call the police and for being in a room where everyone else was trying to sleep she was shouting quite loud. Soon both went downstairs to complain about each other at the reception. The language barrier was clearly inevitable. The man came back in and went back to bed. Soon after the women returned and went over to the man's bed and told him to stay out of her way and to never touch "her" radiator again. He replied to her request with a
"Calm down women. your crazy" The women understand the word crazy continued this dialogue ( she speaking spanish and he speaking english)
"Oh of course, all spanish are crazy. your a pig. You understand? (imitating pig noises) Stay out of my way!"
"Yeah yeah whatever your f..ing insane. It 15 degrees outside and you have to heat this room full blast"
"Learn spanish before coming he you stupid pig. Stay out of my way! Don't talk to me! Don't look at me!

The conversation continued a little bit like that until the both went back to bed.

I found my first hostel experience was quite interesting. I would definatly consider sleeping in a hostel again no doubt.

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

What stories do you have to tell?

Hello, Hallo, Hola.

Working with children can bring some funny stories with it. Doing an Au-pair for 6 months has left me with a dictionary full of stories I could tell. I am going to share some with you below.

My Swing!

Paula my Au-pair child loved the swings. Every time we went to the park she would go on the swings and could stay there all day long. One day we arrived to see one of the two swings was broken. This made things complicated. Paula obviously wasn't the only girl that wanted to go on the swing and as she was running to the swings another boy was doing the same. Paula was 3 years old, the other boy was at least 6-8 years old. The boy go there seconds before Paula did, however that didn't stop paula.
She did a half hiss half shout to scare the boy away and in the end got the swing.

She is very passionate about the swings. ( I knew this wasn't very polite of her but nevertheless was quite funny to watch)

Long way to fall

One day it was raining and Paula and I couldn't go to the park. So that left us at home. Her mother had left for work and we were play with baby dolls and feeding them with toy bottles. I needed to go to the bathroom and left paula playing in my room.
We had set up a rule that she wasn't allowed in my room when my door was closed however in the beginning she didn't understand this rule.
As I was in the bathroom she suddenly started calling my name. I hurried myself up and went out to find her in my bedroom. At this time my Spanish wasn't to good either so as she was trying to explain to me that she had thrown her baby's bottle out of my window and I should go get. I refused her request because 1. I couldn't see where it had fallen meaning it had fallen in the bushes below and 2. We live on the 6th floor of an apartment building.

This situation was totally new me. What do you say to a child that speaks a different language not throw her toys out of the window?

The best day of the year

As a child your birthday is the best thing all year closely followed by Christmas. When it was Paula's birthday she made sure everyone knew and I mean everyone. She greeted me with "It's my birthday today" however it didn't stop there I was talking to the mothers at the bus stop for the school bus and she told me the same story and as we arrived at the grandparents house instead of saying hallo she also greeted them the same way. She was so proud and all of life that day it was quite adorable.

Paula is a sweet girl but really treats my like a sister. Telling on me to her parents and always trying to compete with me. My Au-pair is almost over and I have defiantly experienced a lot.

Have you got stories about children and silly things they do. Why don't you share them with us?

See you next week. Wir sehen uns nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.

How to keep your new years resolutions?

Hello, Hallo, Hola.

Happy new year!! I hope you all had a lovely good start to the new year. :)

The new years resolutions. Something everyone knows and nearly no-one keeps. For exactly this reason I don't usally give myself new years resolution. However if you stick to them its makes you happy. Why do people give up the resolutions? They make it to differcult for themselves.

These are my new years resolution:

Healthy

I will continue eating healthy, starting with small things to make it easy.

Don't say: I going to go to the gym everyday and never eat chocolate again. Say: I will do sports at least once this week and not eat the whole chocolate bar but only half. Then the next day only a quarter of the chocolate bar and so on. This way makes it much easier to keep your goals.

Confidence

My goal is to present myself to someone on the first day of Uni.

But confidence goes a long way. For example when looking in the mirror don't think: "Your hair looks digusting and you ate to much over the holidays". Try by complementing yourself and it will help boost your confidence!

Improve my Spanish

I want to continue improving my Spanish not just forget everything I worked for the last 6 months.

if you want to learn a new language then find a fun way to do so. Don't force yourself to learn 6 hours everyday. You will start hating the language and find excuses. Set small achievements for yourself. A fun way is to download a podcast in your target language and listen to it when driving in the car or cleaning the house.

What are your new years Resolutions? Do have your own tips to keep your goals?
Leave a comment below:)

Cheers to the new year may it be a good one.

See you next week. Bis nächste Woche. Hasta siguiente semana.
